This weekend...

Should be great for my texturator. I will traveling up the PCH and I'm sure I'll run into all kinds of wonderful things to photograph. So look back after the weekend and I'm sure you wont be disappointed. I'll also take some reference pictures for all of us!

Sky

Like I said, you can never get enough clouds. Here are some that are dramatically lit from a setting sunset. This was taken in a desert town where the evening sky usually has beautiful orange and red tints to them.

Headstone

Here's a very special texture for you today. It's from a very old headstone! It has just the slightest hint of moss and has been weathered over time. I believe I took this shot in Ohio somewhere. Unfortunately, it's a little blurry from the macro lens I was using without a tripod, but you can still use it. I'll post the whole grave soon as well.

Clouds

One thing that no one can ever get enough of is clouds. Everyone needs them for a multitude of projects (i.e. background replacement, brushes, texture, etc.).

Rusted table top

Here's a picture of an old rusted table top with some circular stains on it. This texture is great for grunge sampling. It should yield some interesting brushes at least.

Beach bark

Here's the texture of what I guess to be an old pier. I'm not exactly sure as it was just a piece of wood laying in the sand. Either way, I love the tiny little scratch marks on it. Using this as an overlay in photoshop would definitely give any piece a nice subtle texture, especially since you could easily take most of the grays out with adjustments.

Tree Roots

Here's an image of tree roots I took in San Diego. While not much on its own, the roots can be sampled in photoshop to make some interesting patterns, like hair or veins. Let me know what you come up with :)

What is The Texturator?

Hello everyone! This blog will be wholly dedicated to supplying artist, or anyone, with creative reference material. The material I post here will be free of charge and you can use it where ever, and how ever you want (except bundling it and selling it). Not much more to it then that. Enjoy everyone, and feel free to help post links to other resources. Keep the creativity flowing!
